How to choose the wig style (length and cut)?
If you have an oval face shape, your face is slightly longer than it is wide. Your face shape is like an inverted egg -- wider at the top than at the bottom. Your jawline is slightly rounded. When it comes to finding that perfect hairstyle, women with oval faces have things the easiest because they can wear just about anything.
It also means they have the most choices.
Cutting straight bangs across the brow line can break up the length by creating the illusion of width; you divas can keep them blunt like Beyonce's, with one or two passes of a flat iron.
A center part on hair that is shoulder-length or longer is nice against an oval backdrop.
A round face looks really good with an uneven cut, meaning a mix of different lengths. If you add a deep side part and long, side-swept bangs, you'll look slimmer.
If you want to wear a center part, the way to make the style work for a round face is to have the hair a few inches past your shoulders with layers that hit at the jaw. Ask your stylist to cut in a bit on the sides to create subtle angles.
Try long, dramatic layers that sweep along the chin, and a shorter hair as you go back towards the nape of the neck.
If you have a heart-shaped face or an inverted triangle-shaped face, your face is longer than it is wide. Your jawline is long and pointed, and it is the narrowest part of your face.
You want a few pieces of hair to fall in the area between the ears and the nose to offset the width of the 'heart,' and you want the longer layers to fill in the area around the chin.
If you love short hair, try a chin-length bob with tapered ends, similar to how Zoe Saldana wears her hair. It will show off your fabulous cheekbones while off-setting your pointy chin. Heart-shaped faces can also wear longer bobs, but avoid those styles that are above chin level.
If you have a square face, the sides of your face are straight and your face is nearly as wide as it is long. You have a defined, square jawline, and your hairline is probably straight.
Try waves from the ears down, which helps to obscure any severity in the jawline.
A soft, tapered bob that hits right around the chin works beautifully on a square face.
The way Khloe Kardashian wears her hair—really straight and long—softens square angles, and the center part opens up the middle of her face, drawing attention away from the jawline.
If you have a diamond face shape, your face is slightly longer than it is wide, and your jawline is pointed. Your cheekbones are high-set, and are the widest part of your face.
Medium waves should be added all over to give a casually center-parted hairstyle maximum boost and volume, making it a perfect style to frame a diamond face.
Balance out your cheekbones and chin-line with a little weight at the back of the nape or chin areas. A classic bob cut with a little fullness at the bottom is ideal. A layered cut with flipped-out ends is also a terrific choice.
